Rafe: Christy Clark Must Resign

Share

Of course Premier Christy Clark must resign. This unholy bloody business called “ethnicgate” started and stayed in her office. The cabinet minister, John Yap, who ran upon his own sword, lied while doing so, saying that none of this had crossed his desk.

Why did he lie?

Clearly because his knowledge as a member of cabinet would be imputed to the premier, his boss. His note, cheering on his hired fixits, could hardly be sent unless he had Clark’s approval.

The appointment of the premier’s deputy minister to investigate this matter was wrong from the beginning and his report bears that out – he did not interview any members of caucus; more importantly he didn’t interview any cabinet ministers; most importantly, he did not interview the premier.

Mr. Dyble himself should have refused the assignment. If he took it, it had to have no strings attached – which there obviously were.

The constitutional practice over the centuries requires that cabinet ministers, including first ministers, must resign if they are under a cloud. That Premier Clark is under a cloud can scarcely be denied by her most loyal of Liberal friends.

The premier must do the right thing and do it now. Not to do so is not only dishonourable but she places herself and her party ahead of her sworn obligation as a member of cabinet and the first minister.

And that will be her legacy – a dishonourable woman who put personal and political considerations ahead of her duty.

  1. I can’t stand Cristy Clarck, I think she is just a self serving bit*ch. She cares about nothing other than herself and her rich little lifestyle! Also her comments about foreign workers pisses me off to no end. What about British Columbians and jobs for them, what about encouraging them and giving them some support and hope? More and more I go into places like Tim Hortons, McDonalds, and places like this, and they are mostly foreign workers. Stand up for Canadians who are already here. And finally make sure Mrs. Clarck that before you leave office that you give yourself a big fat raise at the taxpayers expense. I hate the fact you got into power in a by-election. You don’t care about democracy at all, don’t you get, we dont like you!!

I wish people would stop using “gate” in any type of scandal. The whole “gate” thing referred to the break-in of the Democratic National Committee headquarters in the Watergate Complex in 1972. It has NOTHING to do with any other scandal. Please, stop. It’s very annoying.

I’m already so past this person (Clark) it’s not funny. Hers is one of the most disastrous reigns in the history of BC politics, and history will treat her as a pariah, as it should. My attention is now on Adrian Dix. This guy has been handed a free ride by the Liberal’s remarkable ineptitude, and he will be our next premier. It’s time to start pressuring him about his policy visions….he’s avoided articulating them up to this point, and I want him to start talking. Now.

One would have thought she’d already be gone.
However, there appears to be something different about Ms Clark and her political and moral compass which seems to be driven less by a belief in duty and a desire to serve the public and more by a notion of herself as somehow ‘entitled’ to the job without any consideration of what ‘doing’ it actually involves.

Interestingly enough, she has a ‘history’ of quitting so it’s entirely possible that’s what she will do – in order, somehow, to preserve her vision of herself without living through the bloodletting she’s visited upon her ‘party’.

I certainly don’t want her to resign. I want her supporters to go gung ho for her. Pump her up and let her believe she will win. Why you ask? Because I want to see her face on election night. I want to look at the corrupt faces that back her. I want the LIbERal empire, the lies, corruption, the arrogance and all the immoral asses fall flat on their faces. The anguish this corrupt bunch have foisted on BC for the last 12 years will be dust in the history books as one of the most corrupt governments the Western Democracy’s have ever seen and elected. What a disaster they have left for our children and grand children.

Someone who is truly a public servant would resign; however, it is abundantly clear that Crusty Toast and her neocon crumpets are self servants. The masquerade is over, but Crusty’s megalomania will keep her clinging to her position and wearing that fake smile till the very end. Her party’s decimation will be one long overdue BC electoral schadenfreudian catharsis.

Of course her resignation is past due, but she does deserve a decent sendoff, perhaps to Contopia.

After all she is little more than a pawn in the paws of the federal cons.

Their paw and claw prints are all over this and even though a number of the implants have self destructed, many others are still there, like Morgan, Day and others, lurking in the shadows, waiting to pounce in the darkest hours.

We mustn’t forget to send them and their ‘elected’ puppies to the appropraite pound in 2015, if not sooner.
